Excellence in Practice!
Tech Tuesday is a video series produced in 2015 by Humana’s IT Learning Services team, and broadcast live to audiences up to 2500 associates. This hour-long series ran for 26 episodes, and included fun and creative lessons about technology in the workplace. Tech Tuesday won the Excellence in Practice award from the Association for Talent Development (ATD) in 2017.
The series featured software demos, workflow guidance, policy guidance, tech news, and was presented alongside live chat and even parody commercials! Insourcing production saved thousands of dollars each episode, and encouraged us to develop internal talent to fill all production roles. What follows are samples of two segments I produced for the show, including two videos from different episodes, and a series of illustrations which were featured in a segment about home networking.
Tech Tuesday PSA: “The Widescreen Revolution!” (2015)
In the tradition of the 1950s “mental hygiene” genre, this quick explainer video drops a few fun facts about the evolution of resolution, and the switch to the 16:9 aspect ratio. This was built to address use of outdated 4:3 PowerPoint templates.
Tech Tuesday: Tech Tips Radio with Ryan and Tree (2017)
“The Immutable Force” short features my friend and colleague, Theresa Butler. We are hosts of a technology advice show with call-in guests including a certain Sith lord with a BiPAP. The audio and effects were edited in Audition.
